Belive 2012

The JW Marriott Marquis Miami was the perfect setting for the grand celebration of BeLive’s 6th Anniversary. The gala commenced with celebrities, personalities and guests walking the Blue Pepsi carpet in front of  countless members of the press and media, cameras and photographers.  Celebrities who joined us for the evening included Chip Ganassi, Felix Sabates, Candela Ferro, Humberto Rodriguez “El Gato” Calderon, Susana Gonzalez, Karent Sierra, Mercedes Soler, Andres Lopez, Natalia Cruz, Ingrid Hoffmann, and many more. Guests then enjoyed signature cocktails by Simply Delicioso Star, Ingrid Hoffmann as well as sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, while perusing two stunning  silent auctions.

The first auction was our Project Emerald, a unique initiative which collaborated with distinguished Jewelry Designers from Colombia and the US, to create one-of-a-kind pieces including earrings, bracelets, clutches, a hairpiece and even a traditional Colombian Mochila designed specially for BeLive by renowned Designer Silvia Tcherassi. This initiative paid tribute to one of Colombia’s most recognizable riches, the emerald. For our second auction, BeLive alongside Artesanías de Colombia and in collaboration with FedEx, selected some of Colombia’s most beautiful artisanal pieces to showcase during the evening. These unique and handmade crafts were created by artisans who have learned their work for many years generationally. Guests then enjoyed a sumptuous three course dinner designed by the executive Chef at the JW Marriott Marquis. The evening’s spectacular Fashion Show was in the hands of Venezuelan born designer, Nicolas Felizola.

This internationally celebrated and renowned designer unveiled his much anticipated 2013 MOOI Collection and showed stunning looks from his most recognizable Red Carpet Ensembles. This year, the BeLive Award was presented to Catalina Escobar for her foundation “Fundación Juan Felipe Gomez Escobar” and was recently named a semifinalist for the 2012 CNN Heroes Awards. The evening came to an amazing end with a spectacular and intimate concert by “El Caballero de la Salsa” Gilberto Santa Rosa.   

2011

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach was the host setting for the milestone celebration of BeLive’s 5th Anniversary. Noted Colombian Actress, Sofia Vergara was the 2011 Co-Chair and Lauren Santo Domingo was the Chair. For the second year, The Wayuu Mochila Project was the centerpiece, spearheaded by Santo Domingo. Designers and fashion houses that joined the project in 2011 included Christian Louboutin, Missoni, Christian Dior, YSL Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Proenza, Oscar de la Renta. In addition, iconic jeweler, Tiffany & Co., created the Tiffany Wall where guests purchased items with 100% of the proceeds donated to BeLive. (more…)

2010

The Fontainebleau Miami Beach proved to be perfect to celebrate the fourth edition of BeLive. Joining us that year was Blanca Soto, Maritza Rodriguez, ball player Edgar Renteria, Raul de Molina, Jorge Bernal and Vanessa Hauc, among others. In honor of Colombia’s Bicentennial, BeLive presented a dazzling silent auction which included items renowned brands, personalities and celebrities, like a designer handbag by Colombian designer Adriana Castro, a custom package by Andres Carne de Res, a one-of-a kind design by Silvia Tcherassi and autographed items from Sofia Vergara, Fonseca and Mercedes Salazar. 2009

More than 600 guests gathered in the beautiful and impactful ICON Brickell in Miami, to celebrate the third year anniversary of BeLive. Daddy Yankee, Amelia Vega, Rodner Figueroa, Kika Rocha, Jimmy Johnson, Raul de Molina, Miguel Varoni, Ilia Calderon and Catherine Siachoque were just some of the celebrities who came together for this celebration. This year, BeLive introduced “The Wayuu Mochila Project,” created and curated by Vogue Magazine Contributing Editor, Lauren Santo Domingo. This incredible project took 40 hand-woven Mochilas bags, created by the Wayuu community in Guajira, and they were reworked by some of the world’s most prominent fashion houses and designers, including Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg, Missoni, Silvia Tcherassi, Tory Burch, Nicolas Felizola and Carolina Herrera. 2008

Parrot Jungle was the perfect setting to welcome over 500 guests to a wonderful evening for Colombia. The gala began with the red carpet entrances of celebrities, including Giselle Blondet, Ilia Calderon, Candela Ferro, Jimmy Johnson, Vanessa Hauc, singer Cabas and Driver, Adrian Fernandez, among others. Guests enjoyed cocktails while perusing the incredible silent auction offerings. Auction items included a golf bag donated by golfer Camilo Villegas, a private dinner with Chef Harry Sasson at the residence of NASCAR Driver Juan Pablo Montoya, as well as incredible luxury travel packages. The Colombian Designer, Esteban Cortazar, showcased his Ungaro Collection with an electrifying Fashion Show, highlighting the latest Parisian trends. The evening came to an end with spectacular, 2-hour outdoor concert by Grammy Award winning Colombian icon, Carlos Vives.

2007

More than 400 guests, including renowned personalities from the world of politics, business, sports, television and philanthropy gathered in Miami to celebrate the first annual BeLive–a gala that benefits Colombian non-profit organizations based in the US. The evening opened with a press conference lead by the Foundation’s Executive Directors. Then, distinguished individuals such as Raul de Molina, Juanes, Rodner Figueroa, Miguel Varoni, Catherine Siachoque, Camilo Villegas, Chip Ganassi, Felix Sabates, Silvia Tcherassi, among others, paraded down the red carpet.
